Design

Our system was designed and developed over 10 years ago, using a vast pool of design, expertise and the latest developments in concrete technology. All units are designed to comply with BYHA Code of Practice, BS6349, BS8110 and BS5400 with regards to dimensions, durability and loading.

MarinaQuality

The system is manufactured to the highest standards of construction.

Durability

The floats are polystyrene encased in fibre reinforced concrete. This float construction is extremely durable. The frame is manufactured from steel and galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461. The decking planks are made from Glass-Fibre Reinforced Concrete(GRC). This allows us to provide a very strong and very durable decking without compromising on the roll stability of the system. This decking has an indefinite lifespan in normal conditions unless mechanically damaged. Traditional one-piece concrete decks result in a very top-heavy pontoon with a high rollover tendency and a high incidence of reinforcement corrosion due to inadequate cover or cracking. There is also no steel in our GRC decking to corrode and using GRC allows us to make the decking only 27mm thick, thus making the system less top-heavy.

Low Maintenance

All the components are relatively maintenance free. The floats and decking are totally maintenance free and only required the occasional cleaning. The decking is actually self cleaning every time there is heavy rain. The galvanised frame may require occasional maintenance should the galvanise coating get damaged. The mechanical connections between the walkway units are the only components which require regular inspections, especially after storms and replacement if required. We recommend the connection be replaced at least every 5 years. The removable deck plan allows easy access to the service area underneath the deck for maintenance of marina services such as power and water supply.

Safety

The weight of the system renders it very stable. When connected to the main walkways, our Finger Walkway Pontoons are reputed to be the most stable available. Our decking is very strong, never deteriorates and is non-slip especially when compared to timber decking.

Appearance

DeckingThe standard colour we use on the decking gives it a timber like appearance. The result is very aesthetically pleasing. The decking can also be manufactured in a whole range of other colours to suit the clients requirement if required.
